There was a pond beside which lived many birds and animals. There was a peacock amongst them. He used to go near the banks of the pond.. ..and see his reflection in the water ofthe pond and admire his beauty. All the animals would admireand praise his beauty.. 

..his colourful feathersand his dancing skills. The praises and admiration madethe peacock proud. He started taunting the other birds. He would also make fun of them. One day it started raining. The peacock started dancing with joy. The cuckoo started singing. All the animals were elated. The bird loved the cuckoo's song. That's lovely, cuckoo.You've a very sweet voice. 

I wish I could hear your sweet voicethroughout the day. This made the peacock jealous. She has a sweet voicebut she's dark and isn't beautiful. So what? I win the hearts of peoplewith my voice. It's not right to be proud of beauty. The crane was watching the peacockbut he didn't say anything. The peacock went dancingto the banks of the pond.. ..and teased the frog. You've such a hoarse voice. 

It scares off the animals. The sad frog jumped into the water.. ..and swam away from that place. When the peacock noticedthe crane he thought.. ..he should go near himand display his beauty. The proud peacock went near the crane. He spread his beautiful wings. He proudly lookedat the crane and said.. Hey Crane, how are you? I was wondering what you feelabout your plain white wings. Your feathers are very ordinary. They've no colour. I'm sure you can't dance like me. The crane started laughing loudly. He spread his wings,flew across the sky.. ..and stood before the peacockand said.. 

We shouldn't be proud of ourselves. We've got wings so that we can fly. Your wings are beautifulbut you can't fly for too long. I'm very happy with my plainand simple but useful wings. I don't wish to have colourful wings. Everybody has some quality. But, they're different from each other. You should neither be proud nor hurt anybody. The cuckoo sings sweetly. The frog can jump high. The peacock was quite after hearing the words of the crane. He repented for his pride and his bad behavior.
